ABOUT the SBDC

The Mission of the Blue Ridge Crossroads SBDC is to advise, train, and inform small businesses to help them achieve success.

We are one of 27 centers across Virginia providing professional business advice, training, and information resources to help grow and strengthen local businesses.

The Virginia SBDC Network is the most extensive business development program in the Commonwealth and part of America’s SBDC – the nation’s proven, cost-effective, and accredited infrastructure focused on small businesses – America’s job creators.

The Blue Ridge Crossroads Small Business Development Center (SBDC) has served the Twin Counties for over 15 years. The program was first with Wytheville Community College and in 2008 a full time office was opened with Blue Ridge Crossroads Economic Development Authority (BRCEDA) becoming the host.  The SBDC offers no-fee, confidential counseling services to small and medium businesses. The staff provides support in developing business plans, financial projections, and resources for start-up and existing businesses. The SBDC, in partnership with Virginia SBDC Centers, is able to provide subject matter expertise in a variety of program.

In order to reach as many people as possible the SBDC provides free and low cost business training seminars. The service area is City of Galax, Carroll County, Grayson County, Bland County and Wythe County. An office is maintained at Crossroads Institute in Galax, VA.

The Blue Ridge Crossroads SBDC is funded in part through a Cooperative Agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.

SBA’s funding is not an endorsement of any products, opinions or services. SBA funded programs are extended to the public on a non-discriminatory basis.

We also receive programmatic and financial support from George Mason University and our host Blue Ridge Crossroads Economic Development, as well as the City of Galax, and the Counties of Carroll and Grayson.
